Moscow has taken the US president\u2019s threats into account, spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said, adding that Russia remains committed to peace<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong>Russia has taken note of US President Donald Trump\u2019s decision to shorten the deadline for a peace deal in Ukraine and to issue new threats, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.<\/p>\n On Monday, Trump cut his previous 50-day deadline for a Ukraine peace deal to just 10-12 days, warning that Moscow could face sweeping sanctions if no agreement is reached. He has threatened 100% tariffs on Russia\u2019s trading partners and said he no longer wishes to speak with President Vladimir Putin \u201cjust to talk.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cWe have taken into account President Trump\u2019s statement yesterday,\u201d<\/em> Peskov told reporters on Tuesday, while refraining from making any \u201cjudgments\u201d<\/em> about the remarks.<\/p>\n Peskov noted that while Russia\u2019s military operation will continue, Moscow remains \u201ccommitted to the peace process to resolve the conflict around Ukraine and to ensure our interests in the course of this settlement.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Regarding the possibility of a meeting between Trump and Putin, which has been widely anticipated in the media in recent months, Peskov reiterated that the issue has not been raised in practical terms and is still not on the agenda.<\/p>\n
