{"id":501,"date":"2025-07-31T06:23:21","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T06:23:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/?p=501"},"modified":"2025-08-01T13:47:46","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T13:47:46","slug":"russia-liberates-key-donbass-stronghold-mod-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/31\/russia-liberates-key-donbass-stronghold-mod-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia liberates key Donbass stronghold \u2013 MOD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Chasov Yar is a critical high-ground and logistics hub in the area<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russian forces have liberated Chasov Yar, a pivotal Ukrainian stronghold in Russia\u2019s Donetsk Region, after months of fighting, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said the town had been taken as a result of offensive operations by the \u2018South\u2019 grouping of forces advancing towards the cities of Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka.<\/p>\n<p>A TASS source said Russian troops in Chasov Yar have destroyed <em>\u201cperhaps the largest [Ukrainian] force in the history of the special operation.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<em>\u201cIt is literally thousands of enemy personnel,\u201d<\/em> he added.<\/p>\n<p>Igor Kimakovsky, an adviser to the head of the Donetsk People Republic, said <em>\u201cthe fall of Chasov Yar essentially leads to the collapse of [Ukrainian] defenses in Konstantinovka, and then Druzhkovka and Slaviansk.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Chasov Yar has long been one of Ukraine\u2019s best fortified positions in Donbass, situated on elevated ground and bisected by the Seversky Donets-Donbass Canal. Control of the city affords artillery dominance over supply routes toward the key regional cities of Kramatorsk and Slaviansk. It has also been a critical logistical hub for Ukrainian forces in the area.<\/p>\n<figure>\n        <img src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/688b69d785f54034060c9f0e.jpg\"><br \/>\n            <\/figure>\n<p>Kiev has not confirmed the loss of the city, although the Ukrainian military Telegram channel DeepState shows Chasov Yar being under almost total Russian control.<\/p>\n<p>\n        <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/russia\/620755-russian-mod-reports-massive-strike-ukraine\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            <span>READ MORE: <\/span>Russia launches \u2018massive\u2019 strike on Ukrainian defense industry \u2013 MOD<br \/>\n        <\/a>\n    <\/p>\n<p>Hostilities around Chasov Yar began in early April 2024, shortly after Russian forces captured Artyomovsk (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine) located approximately 10km to the east.<\/p>\n<p>The rugged terrain, riven with river valleys, ravines, and more than 30 ponds and water bodies, heavily favored Ukrainian forces.
