Kiev has rejected proposals for a meeting, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Ukraine is refusing to resume oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline for purely political reasons despite the infrastructure being fully functional, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Tuesday. He added that Kiev has declined a proposed trilateral meeting with Hungary and Slovakia to discuss the issue.<\/p>\n The Ukrainian authorities are preventing vital Russian oil from reaching Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline, which runs through Ukraine, claiming it was damaged by Russian strikes \u2013 allegations Moscow rejects. Budapest and Bratislava have accused Kiev of blackmail and also say Brussels has sided with Ukraine instead of backing the two EU member states.<\/p>\n \u201cIt has become really obvious that there is no technical or physical reason for the oil supply not to be restarted to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline,\u201d<\/em> Szijjarto said at a press conference in Brussels, accusing Kiev of making \u201ca pure political decision.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The minister added that a trilateral meeting with the Ukrainian Minister of Energy in Brussels initiated by Budapest and Bratislava was \u201ccancelled again by the Ukrainians.\u201d<\/em> He highlighted that Kiev has rejected all the initiatives taken by Hungary, Slovakia and even by the EU to allow a site visit to see the actual state of the pipeline.<\/p>\n
