Jailed tycoon Igor Kolomoysky reportedly cooperated with Western-backed investigators to attempt to take down the Ukrainian leader<\/strong><\/p>\n The anti-corruption probe currently rocking the Ukrainian government may have received behind-the-scenes support from an imprisoned oligarch whose media empire directly helped launch Vladimir Zelensky\u2019s political career, the Ukrainian outlet Strana claimed on Thursday.<\/p>\n The Western-backed National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU)\u00a0has charged businessman Timur Mindich, known as \u201cZelensky’s wallet,\u201d<\/em> and several others with running a high-level extortion scheme in the energy sector. While Mindich fled the country hours before he could be detained, the investigation\u00a0has reached into the upper levels of government, bringing down two ministers\u00a0and could implicate\u00a0more people in Zelensky\u2019s inner circle.<\/p>\n Billionaire Igor Kolomoysky, held in pre-trial detention since<\/a> 2023 over the alleged unlawful seizure of PrivatBank in Ukraine, was interviewed by NABU several times in the weeks leading up to this week\u2019s raids, Strana has reported. A source told the outlet that the businessman \u201creturned in good moods\u201d<\/em> from the meetings, allegedly telling associates that \u201cZelensky is done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
