Moscow has consistently maintained it cannot be excluded from discussions on security guarantees for Kiev, the Foreign Ministry has said<\/strong><\/p>\n The Russian Foreign Ministry has pushed back against Western media reports claiming Moscow undermined Ukraine peace talks with the US by insisting it must take part in discussions about security guarantees for Kiev.<\/p>\n On Friday, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that remarks by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about the principles of \u201cindivisible security\u201d<\/em> in Europe have \u201ceffectively fractured Russia\u2019s talks with the US,\u201d<\/em> while describing Moscow\u2019s stance as \u201can attempt to stall the [settlement] process.\u201d<\/em> The Wall Street Journal similarly accused Lavrov of \u201ctoss[ing] all sorts of obstacles\u201d<\/em> in the way of possible high-level talks between Moscow and Kiev.<\/p>\n The ministry responded that Russia has followed a consistent policy on the conditions needed both to resolve the Ukraine conflict and to build a stable European security framework.<\/p>\n
