The Ukrainian leader\u2019s previous meeting with President Donald Trump on US soil in February ended in a heated spat<\/strong><\/p>\n Ukraine\u2019s Vladimir Zelensky has announced that he will travel to Washington next week for in-person talks with US President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n He said he and the US leader had a\u00a0\u201dlong, meaningful conversation<\/em>\u201d as they spoke about Trump’s summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.\u00a0He said that Trump had informed him\u00a0about the main points of the discussion.<\/p>\n \u201cI am going to discuss all the details on ending the killings and the war, with President Trump in Washington on Monday. Thank you for the invitation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/em>Trump later confirmed Zelensky’s impending visit in a social media post.<\/p>\n Putin received a cordial welcome at the Alaska summit, with the two leaders praising the negotiations as constructive. While no deal on Ukraine was announced, Trump later said that the sides had moved closer toward settling the conflict. He later urged Zelensky to \u201cmake a deal.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
