{"id":1706,"date":"2025-08-09T21:22:27","date_gmt":"2025-08-09T21:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/?p=1706"},"modified":"2025-08-15T14:01:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T14:01:35","slug":"zelensky-rejects-land-swap-floated-by-trump","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/09\/zelensky-rejects-land-swap-floated-by-trump\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelensky rejects land swap floated by Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ukraine\u2019s territorial integrity remains non-negotiable, the country\u2019s leader insists<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vladimir Zelensky has reiterated his commitment to the country\u2019s territorial integrity, confirming that Kiev still lays claim to all the territories which have been\u00a0incorporated into Russia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The remarks come shortly after US President Donald Trump suggested that a potential peace deal between Moscow and Kiev could involve a\u00a0<em>\u201cswapping of territories\u201d<\/em> between Moscow and Kiev <em>\u201cto the betterment of both.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Zelensky firmly rejected the idea of making any territorial concessions on Saturday, claiming that was exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin was after, and accusing him of seeking to exchange a <em>\u201cpause in war\u201d<\/em> for the <em>\u201clegalization of occupation of our land.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNow Putin wants to be forgiven for seizing the south of our Kherson region, Zaporozhye, the entire territory of Lugansk region, Donetsk region, and Crimea. The peninsula subsequently joined Russia via a referendum, with the idea overwhelmingly backed by locals.<\/p>\n<p>Four other territories were incorporated into Russia in September, 2022 after a series of referendums held independently in each region. Of these, the Russian military has recently liberated Lugansk People\u2019s Republic in its entirety.
