{"id":1610,"date":"2025-08-11T20:39:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T20:39:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/?p=1610"},"modified":"2025-08-15T13:59:50","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T13:59:50","slug":"west-used-ukraine-eu-states-pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/11\/west-used-ukraine-eu-states-pm\/","title":{"rendered":"West \u2018used\u2019 Ukraine \u2013 EU state\u2019s PM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Kiev backed a plan to weaken Russia that fell short, and will now have to \u201cpay dearly,\u201d Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The West used Ukraine in a failed attempt to weaken Russia, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said.<\/p>\n<p>A staunch advocate for peace talks rather than the EU\u2019s military backing for Kiev, Fico made the comments in a video address posted on Facebook over the weekend, saying the Ukrainian leadership also bears responsibility, having backed the Western plan to harm Moscow by supporting the war effort.<br \/><em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUkraine was used by the West in an attempt to weaken Russia, which did not succeed \u2013 and for which, it seems, Ukraine will have to pay dearly,\u201d<\/em> Fico said.<\/p>\n<p>He added: <em>\u201cEveryone already knows that the [Ukraine] conflict has serious roots in recent history, has no military solution, \u2026 and that Ukraine\u2019s membership in NATO is impossible.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Moscow has framed the Ukraine conflict as a NATO proxy war and has long denounced Western military aid to Kiev, saying the US-led military bloc\u2019s eastward expansion and Ukraine\u2019s ambitions to join are key drivers of the hostilities.<\/p>\n<p>Fico, who survived an assassination attempt by a pro-Ukraine activist over his opposition to arming Kiev, has repeatedly criticized the West\u2019s approach, warning that it threatens global security. His latest remarks come as the Russian and US leaders prepare to meet on August 15 to discuss a possible settlement.<\/p>\n<p>The Kremlin has said securing a permanent and stable peace will be the focus of the upcoming talks in Alaska on Friday.
