{"id":1136,"date":"2025-08-07T11:18:51","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T11:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/?p=1136"},"modified":"2025-08-08T13:50:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T13:50:16","slug":"zelensky-says-its-time-to-end-the-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.youtubexyoutube.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/07\/zelensky-says-its-time-to-end-the-war\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelensky says \u2018it\u2019s time to end the war\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The comments came shortly after Moscow said Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump could meet as early as next week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ukraine is open to talks with Russia on settling the conflict, including in a format with a third party, Vladimir Zelensky has said.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on Telegram on Thursday, the Ukrainian leader said he had spoken with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss ending the conflict in what he described as <em>\u201ca dignified peace\u201d<\/em> that would <em>\u201cdetermine the security conditions for Europe for decades.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He also reported a discussion the previous day which focused on <em>\u201cpotential formats for meetings for peace at the level of leaders in the near future,\u201d<\/em> including two bilateral and one trilateral framework.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUkraine is not afraid of meetings and expects the same bold approach from the Russian side. He said that while Witkoff mentioned the possibility of trilateral talks, the issue was not specifically discussed.<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky has on numerous occasions called for a face-to-face meeting with Putin. Moscow has not ruled out the possibility in principle, but said it must be preceded by extensive expert groundwork.<\/p>\n<p>Russia has also expressed serious concern over the Ukrainian leader\u2019s legal authority to enter into binding agreements. Zelensky\u2019s presidential term expired in 2024, but he did not call new elections, citing martial law.
